I've never been one for warranties.  But when I purchased my last car, I spent the extra $1,200 or so for the extended warranty and 4 years later, it saved my wallet and checking account from a big hit when the electronic something-or-the-other failed and it would have cost over $1,600, and I'm still covered for another 30,000 miles.
